What Outfit Did You Use To Get Your Newborn’s Pics Taken In And Bring Him/her Home From The Hospital In?
I’m having a hard time finding a cute, not too casual, but not too fancy outfit for a baby boy. With my daughter, she was so tiny, the only option I had was a sleeper/gown thing. All the other items I’d brought with me to the hospital were too small. This time around, I know to bring a preemie outfit and a newborn outfit. However, I can’t seem to find anything just right. Any suggestions?
I had an outfit that was bought at Carter’s. It was a sleeper (without the feet) and there was a matching hat and pair of booties/socks. It had little dog paw prints on it and was blue.
For my youngest, I found a really cute baby gro. It was just white but has in bright letters “I love my Daddy” on the front. It was plain enough to not look fussy but the bright colour writing on the front jazzed it up a bit.
I think something plain works-no majorly bright colours all over or anything with frills, bows etc. Because then the eye is attracted to the fluff rather than the cute baby!
It was really hot the week and time of year my son was born. So I put him in a simple white and blue pin striped cotton onesie with blue terry socks. Boom, done. He was comfy and happy and so was I. I really think it’s quite cruel to make a brand new baby dress up in frilly and foofy outfits right after being naked and warm and comfy for the past 9 months.
We took hospital photos in a sleeper gown. We brought my daughter home in some awful, uncomfortable little outfit. Your son will be cute in anything, so let him be comfortable and don’t worry about fashion.
One of my favorite photos of my daughter that melts my heart every time is her wearing a onesie in her crib at 2 months old. There is nothing fancy about the photo, I just love it for some reason. She is 16 months old now and I still cherish that photo as my favorite.
i was a preemie, and my mother brought me home in pink corduroy trouser dungarees with a little white babygro under it, and so were all my friends, i get that this was probably the height of fashion for babys in 1992, so it might not work now, but it did look quite cute on us! my brother was full term, but my mother just brang him home in wool blue babygro. i had a teacher in high school that brang her baby back from hospital in a miniature version of her own outfit, mother and baby came out matching….!
