What Could I Use To Create Natural Looking Highlights, Without Dying It?
I want to get some highlights in my hair, but I don’t want to buy some hair dye to do it. What could I use? I’ve tried plain lemon juice and lemon juice with chamomile tea, but it doesn’t do anything. Oh yeah, and I have dark brown hair.
If you are willing to try, Sun-In works. I lightened all of my hair with it in 8th grade (mistake), but also more recently I added some more highlights to my hair after I paid for not-enough highlights at the salon. Everyone says Sun-In is the worst stuff ever, and fries your hair, and such, but I have never ever found that to be true. They may be talking about an older version of it. Just dont do it very much.
What I do is select the small width of hair I want to lighten, keeping in mind how it will look at the scalp. Portion it out AT your scalp, or else you will lighten way too wide of a portion. Then, I hold that strand up away from the rest of my hair and, not kidding, clip an old sock under neath it. Lay the strand back down – now you can spray it with sun-in without spraying the rest of your hair.
Next, most important, straighten that piece with a hot straightener many times. You will see it lighten within a few minutes!
Just remember that you don’t have a ton of control over how it looks in the end, since it acts differently on all shades of hair and it also depends how much heat / sun you give it. Good luck!
If you look in drug stores, there are sprays that make your hair lighter, just spray it in and sit in the sun. But I am not sure of the name, so if you ask a worker at a store I am sure they will help: )
Sun in’s the best. And u could do streaks of color. You can also use a blow dryer instead of the sunn.
