I had a heart attack 7 years ago and was told by my rehab nurse not to eat more than 3 eggs a week

  • dremadag:

3 but it could be more if you eat cholesterol low eggs

The USDA has revised their list of foods that are “high” cholesterol and should be avoided.
The list used to contain all nuts, avocados, shrimp, lobster, other shell fish, and of course eggs. These have all been removed from those lists in the past 5 years.
I have 2 eggs cooked some way every morning. My cholesterol has gone down with control of my blood glucose control. The closer to normal I keep my fasting numbers and A1c numbers, the better my cholesterol and lipids panel is.
We need certain amount of cholesterols in our diet. They are the things that keep our brains working correctly.

i am a diabetic type 2 i am limited to 2 eggs per week i check all the food i eat in case there is egg in it if there is then i don’t touch it this is just 1 item in the controlled diet i am on, sorry its not good news for you.
if you ignore the nurses advice on the diet believe me you will suffer.

i would’nt eat any they are amongst the food with the highest cholesterol in the world apart from a good old dollop of lard. yummmm!

  • FluffyPi:

  • poorvaj r:

leaving at least two days gap two will be sufficient

  • ANF:

2/3 a week is about it. If you do some exercise like walking or even jogging then the effect of the egg will lessen. It is also necessary to cut down on all dairy products as they to will increase your cholesterol, especially Cheddar cheese and cream. If you are diabetic as I am, you should be trying to get your weight down and cutting out butter, cream etc will only help your health in general.
Best of luck and have a happy and healthy New Year.

eat as many as you want but REMOVE THE YOLK.

  • turtle3f:

2 to 3 a week of whole eggs but you can eat all the egg whites you want . So in any recipe that calls for eggs replace 1 whole egg with two egg whites.
