postheadericon When Is It Safe To Start Working On Bringing On Labor?

I know that technically 37 weeks is considered full-term but I am so scared I’m going to be one of those woman who go all the way to 42 weeks. I’m already soooooo miserable because I’ve been on bed rest for the last two months. I’m 36 weeks now and I get released from bed rest next week but when should I start walking and having sex to induce labor?

I would say try to wait it out just one more week, hon. I know you’re feeling awful and are more than ready to have that baby in your arms. Although I haven’t been on bed rest for two months, I am exhausted all the time and in pain so I can relate to wanting to start trying to induce labor. I’m measuring two weeks bigger than I should be and my doctor is already talking about the possibility of a c-section because of my baby’s size, so as soon as I hit 37 weeks I’m going to start trying different ways of inducing. I do not want a c-section.
Chances are, if you were to try to induce now, your baby would be more than fine. The biggest thing they worry about at this point in pregnancy is that the baby doesn’t have enough body fat to regulate their body temperature. Good luck, hon!

I would say once released from bedrest you are safe to do anything the doctor tells you is ok. If they aren’t worried about you going into labor (letting you off bedrest) then you shouldn’t worry about it either!!
PS if you have a breastpump, nipple stimulation with my breast pump put me in labor, I used it around 10am and didnt have any signs that it did anything until I woke up that night with contractions 7 minutes apart, I had my daughter the following day :)
Sex & walking I’ve heard also help, and a long warm bath once contractions start – this will help you dilate more quickly!!!
    GOOD LUCK!!

As soon as your off bed rest!
37 weeks they will not stop you from having the baby if you go into labor. So i would start walking and having sex, just do not over due it since you are coming off bedrest.
